The film is dedicated to the memory of Marfa Semenovna Kryukova, a master of traditional folklore and an exemplary author of „Soviet Folklore“. The film is based on interviews filmed during expeditions of the Folklore Department of the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 2010 and 2018 on the Winter Coast of the White Sea, as well as on archival materials.
